Malaysia Airlines Celebrates 50 Years
To mark 50 years of flying from Kuala Lumpur to London, the airline has launched the “Heritage in the Skies” campaign
Malaysia Airlines is celebrating a milestone. To mark 50 years of flying from Kuala Lumpur to London, the airline has launched the “Heritage in the Skies” campaign, showcasing its iconic Sarong Kebaya uniforms.
From November 3 to 16, cabin crew on select flights will wear six unique Kebaya designs, each representing a chapter in the airline’s cultural legacy.
A special exhibit at KLIA Terminal 1 from November 3 to 14 will also display these uniforms, inviting travelers to connect with the rich artistry of Malaysian heritage.
Since 1963, Malaysia Airlines’ Sarong Kebaya has evolved, blending vibrant colours and patterns inspired by Malaysia’s landscapes, batik motifs, and traditional designs. Today’s uniforms incorporate bamboo, local flowers, and traditional batik elements, capturing the essence of Malaysia.
The campaign reflects the airline’s commitment to honouring its roots while providing world-class service.
Passengers and visitors are encouraged to join the celebration by snapping photos, sharing their experiences on social media, and participating in a contest using #malaysiaairlines and #heritageintheskies.
The best entry will win two return tickets for a Kuala Lumpur-London trip, adding a memorable touch to this heritage tribute.
