Indonesia Is Farming Big

Indonesia is making a big move in cattle farming. The Ministry of Agriculture has prepared 1.5 million hectares of land specifically for dairy and beef cattle.

This plan aims to increase the country’s production of meat and milk while attracting investors to develop modern, sustainable farming practices.

To make this work even better, they’re setting up livestock clusters, which will bring together corporations, cooperatives, and farmer groups. Think of it as a team effort to boost efficiency and productivity across the industry.

This initiative also links to a larger goal: supporting the free meals program launching in January 2025. The idea here is to improve public access to nutritious food.

Some specific areas, like Central Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, and South Kalimantan, are already marked out for dairy farming.

By concentrating resources in these regions, the government hopes to attract the right investments and expertise to build a stronger, self-sufficient cattle farming sector.
