Adidas Stronger in China

The famed shoe brand is reporting a strong third-quarter growth in China

Adidas reported strong third-quarter growth in China, with sales up 9% to €946 million, driven by opening new stores and tailoring products to Chinese tastes.

CEO Bjorn Gulden expects growth to reach 10% in the fourth quarter. Adidas is outperforming Nike in China, with Topsports, the country’s top sports retailer, noting Adidas' resilience compared to Nike’s lagging sales.

The brand’s retro-style Samba shoes are fueling market gains, while Adidas also sold €200 million in remaining Yeezy inventory, down from €350 million last year.

U.S. sales, excluding Yeezy, rose by 1%, and Adidas took retail space from Nike at Foot Locker and JD Sports.
